Site: Bijaći – Stombrate, the old-Croatian cemetery, grave No. 35
Material: fishbone
Dating: mid 9th century
Dimensions: length 8 mm – 6 mm, and 10 – 7 mm in diameter

Description: Bone pearls, total of 14 pieces of different size, they are made of the part of big blue fish spine (Thunnidae family) or conger eel, they are remanufactured. They were found in the grave no. 35 and they represent a unique finding, with no analogy in the other old-Croatian graves. They were found around the neck, over the left part of the body and as the pile at the side. Other finding from the grave (earrings with pendants and the little knife) helped in dating this unique finding into the mid of the 9th century.
